AWIICOM takes the protection of personal data seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are. It applies to this website and to the client platform available at app.awiicom.com.

1. Data controller

The data controller is AWIICOM, Blvd du Général de Gaulle, Djibouti, Republic of Djibouti. For any question about your data: contact@awiicom.com.

2. Data we collect

Website visitors

  • Technical browsing data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, date and time of visit (server logs).
  • Data you send us when contacting us by email or WhatsApp: name, company, contact details and the content of your request.

Platform customers

  • Account data: first and last name, company, email, phone number, login credentials.
  • Billing data: billing details, order and payment history.
  • Usage data: sending history, statistics, login and activity logs.

Recipients of our customers’ messages

When our customers import contacts and send messages (SMS, WhatsApp), we process phone numbers, any personalisation variables and message content solely on behalf of and on the instructions of the customer. In this case, the customer is the data controller and AWIICOM acts as a data processor. The customer is responsible for having a legal basis (in particular the recipients’ consent for marketing messages).

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Responding to your contact or quote requests — legitimate interest / pre-contractual measures.
  • Creating and managing your account, providing messaging services — performance of the contract.
  • Billing and accounting — legal obligation.
  • Security, fraud and spam prevention — legitimate interest.
  • Improving the website and services (aggregated statistics) — legitimate interest.
  • Commercial information about our offers — consent, or legitimate interest for existing customers.

4. Who receives the data

Your data is intended for authorised AWIICOM staff. It may be shared, strictly as necessary, with:

  • telecommunications operators and messaging service providers (including Meta for WhatsApp Business), to route messages;
  • administrative or judicial authorities, where required by law.

AWIICOM does not sell or rent your personal data.

5. Transfers outside Djibouti

Some service providers may be located outside the Republic of Djibouti (for example for hosting or WhatsApp routing). In such cases, AWIICOM ensures that these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards.

6. Retention periods

  • Contact requests: 3 years from the last exchange.
  • Customer account data: for the duration of the contractual relationship, then 10 years for evidentiary purposes.
  • Billing data: 10 years, in accordance with accounting obligations.
  • Sending history and message content: 24 months.
  • Technical logs: 24 months.

7. Security

AWIICOM implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration: encrypted connections (HTTPS), access control, logging and backups.

8. Cookies and local storage

This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. It only stores your theme preference (light or dark) in your browser’s local storage; this information never leaves your device.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which sends your IP address to Google when pages are displayed. The client platform uses cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication and the security of your session.

9. Your rights

In accordance with applicable regulations, you have the following rights over your data:

  • right of access and to obtain a copy of your data;
  • right to rectify inaccurate data;
  • right to erasure, within the limits of our legal obligations;
  • right to object, in particular to direct marketing;
  • right to restrict processing and to data portability;
  • right to withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@awiicom.com stating the purpose of your request. We reply within one month. If you received messages sent by one of our customers, please contact the sender of the message first.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to our services or to regulations. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
